Parma Heights today: council preview, waste dates and zoning notes
As the first full week of February gets underway, Parma Heights residents have a few city hall and service updates to keep on the radar.
City Council and Mayor’s Caucus on deck Monday
The city’s next Mayor’s Caucus is scheduled for Monday, February 9, at 6:45 p.m., followed by a City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall on Pearl Road.citeturn1search0
Agendas for both gatherings are posted on the city’s website, giving residents a look at what council members and the administration expect to tackle. If you have business before council or just want to follow along, now is a good time to review the packet ahead of Monday night.
Special waste collection events set for 2026
The Service Department has published its 2026 Household Collections Program, outlining special drop-off events at the Parma Heights Service Garage in Greenbrier Commons.citeturn0search8
Household hazardous waste collections are scheduled for May 9, July 25 and October 24, all running from 9 a.m. to noon. The events are open to residents only, and proof of residency will be required at the gate.
The city notes that these collections are intended for items like leftover paint, automotive fluids, certain cleaners and garden chemicals, helping keep them out of regular trash and storm sewers. Details on what is and is not accepted are available through the Service Department.
Zoning board calendar and February change
The Board of Zoning Appeals has posted its meeting calendar for 2026, with sessions typically set for the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at City Hall.citeturn1search2
While a January case was on the books, the February 16 zoning meeting has been marked as cancelled, so residents waiting on appeals or new development items will want to watch for the March 16 session instead.
Because some months have no active cases, the city is reminding applicants and neighbors to confirm meeting status with the clerk before heading out, especially during winter weather.
Looking ahead
Between Monday’s council session, springtime waste events and a full year of zoning and planning work, Parma Heights is easing into 2026 with a steady stream of city business. Residents who stay plugged into these schedules will be better positioned to weigh in on projects, services and neighborhood changes as they move forward.
