Today’s Snapshot
Here’s a calm check-in on what’s happening around Passaic as the city heads into the weekend. While it’s been a relatively quiet news cycle locally, a few city updates and reminders are worth keeping on your radar.
City Council Activity This Week
The Passaic City Council held its regular public meeting earlier this week on Tuesday, February 3. The session was offered in a hybrid format, allowing residents to attend in person or participate virtually. As usual, agenda items were made available in advance, with discussions focused on routine city business and ongoing municipal planning for 2026.
Residents who weren’t able to attend can review meeting materials and stay informed about future dates through the city’s official calendar, which lists upcoming council sessions later this month.
Upcoming City Hall Closures
City officials are reminding residents that City Hall offices will be closed for two upcoming holidays. Offices will be closed on Thursday, February 12, in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday, and again on Monday, February 16, for Washington’s Birthday. Essential services will continue, but residents should plan ahead for in-person city business.
Utility and Community Assistance Programs
The city is continuing to promote utility assistance resources available to Passaic residents. A county-supported Utility Assistance Day is listed among current city notices, offering help to households navigating energy and service costs. These programs are particularly timely as winter conditions persist.
School District Notices
The Passaic City School District has recently shared updated schedules, budget materials, and family resources for the 2025–2026 school year. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to review district communications, especially regarding school hours, delayed openings, and upcoming board-related information.
Looking Ahead
With no major disruptions or emergencies reported locally in the last two days, the focus in Passaic remains on routine governance, community services, and planning for the weeks ahead. Residents can expect more updates as additional meetings and events take place later this month.
