Phoenix, AZ — January 31, 2026 — Local News Update
Phoenix, AZ — January 31, 2026 — A roundup of recent events and developments in Phoenix, including the upcoming WM Phoenix Open, local weather forecast, and community events.
Upcoming WM Phoenix Open
The 2026 WM Phoenix Open is set to return to Scottsdale for its 91st edition. Notable updates include a new four-story modular structure replacing the previous viewing area at the iconic 16th hole, offering a vastly different experience compared to 2025. The event will also feature enhanced entertainment, such as a performance by The Killers during the “Concert in the Coliseum” on Saturday night. Seven former champions, including Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka, are set to compete. While general admission tickets for Saturday are sold out, they remain available for other days.
Weather Forecast
Valley highs will continue to top out in the 70s and could even hit the 80s by this weekend. That’s around 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. Phoenix could even flirt with the record this Sunday! We’re forecasting a high of 82 degrees, just one degree shy of the record of 83 degrees set in 2003. Mornings will still be chilly. Expect overnight temperatures to drop into the mid 40s to low 50s across the Valley all week. We’ll see some clouds moving through at times, but there are no chances for rain over the next seven days.
