Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo Begins Today
The 2026 Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo kicks off today, January 30, and runs through February 7 in Rapid City. This year’s event introduces ‘Rope, Ride & Slide,’ a high-energy, multi-discipline showcase featuring continuous western action. Additionally, the Boots & Beer Festival is scheduled for Thursday, February 5, offering live music and local brews. Concerts have been rescheduled to Friday and Saturday, February 6 and 7, to enhance guest experience. The Cinch Trade Show, livestock shows, and other traditional events will also be featured. Sanford Health Announces $500 Million Hospital Plan
Sanford Health has unveiled plans for a new $500 million hospital and medical campus in Rapid City. The 480,000-square-foot facility will include a 168-bed hospital, emergency department, surgical suites, and specialized centers for oncology, women’s health, and children’s care. Construction is set to begin in 2027, with completion targeted for 2030. This expansion aims to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Black Hills region and solidify Rapid City’s role as a regional medical hub.
