Rialto, CA — February 5, 2026 — Local News Update
Rialto, CA — February 5, 2026 — Recent developments in Rialto include a new housing community, a warehouse project denial, and a major injury collision investigation.
New Housing Community: Renaissance
Rialto is welcoming Renaissance, a new gated master-planned community offering four distinct collections of homes: Tailwind, Runway, Aviator, and Outbound. Each enclave provides unique floor plans, fostering a sense of connection and community. The development features a modern recreation center with a swimming pool, spa, tot lots, and open turf areas. Nearby amenities include the Renaissance Marketplace, parks, trails, and community gardens, enhancing the living experience for residents.
Warehouse Project Denied and Moratorium Enacted
On January 28, 2025, the Rialto City Council upheld a resolution to deny a proposed warehouse project adjacent to homes in North Rialto. Additionally, a 45-day moratorium on new warehouse developments was enacted to assess zoning, truck circulation impacts, and compliance with policies like AB98. This decision reflects the council’s commitment to prioritizing community health and safety over industrial expansion.
Major Injury Collision Investigation
On December 5, 2025, a major injury collision occurred at the intersection of SR-210 and Linden Ave. Edgar Gonzalez, 36, was driving a white Ford F-150 northbound on Linden Ave when he veered off the road, collided with a chain-link fence, and drove off the elevated side of the SR-210. The truck landed in the eastbound HOV lane, where it was broadsided by a white GMC Arcadia, causing both vehicles to overturn. Gonzalez and the GMC driver, Jeffery Elhami, 51, were transported to a local hospital; Gonzalez was listed in critical but stable condition, and Elhami in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking information from the public. Anyone with information is urged to contact Traffic Sergeant Justin Breen at (909) 835-9965 or via email at jbreen@rialtopd.com.
