Shooting Suspect in Custody

Rochester, MN — February 3, 2026 — A shooting suspect is in custody following a January 25 incident in southeast Rochester.

The Rochester Police Department (RPD) responded to a shooting at approximately 9:35 p.m. on January 25 in the 1200 block of Marion Road SE. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound; he was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 2700 block of Marion Road SE, where a man with a gun had reportedly broken in. The suspect, known to the residents, was identified as the shooter and taken into custody. Preliminary investigations suggest the victim and suspect were related. There is no known threat to the public.
