San Leandro riders should expect BART schedule changes beginning Aug. 10

San Leandro BART riders will see a new systemwide schedule beginning Monday, Aug. 10, 2026. Departure times at San Leandro Station and Bay Fair may shift by several minutes, while some peak-period trains will be longer.

BART says the schedule is intended to create more even spacing between trains and improve selected transfers. Riders should check the applicable weekday or weekend timetable before leaving for the station.

What changes locally

BART’s Aug. 10 Green Line weekday timetable lists both Bay Fair and San Leandro, confirming that the new schedule directly applies to service through San Leandro Station. The published station-by-station times vary throughout the day, so riders should not assume every departure will move by the same amount.

BART also says two additional morning Green Line trains toward San Francisco will operate with eight cars. One additional afternoon Blue Line train toward the East Bay will also operate with eight cars. Those longer trains will carry over to the Aug. 10 schedule.

Green and Blue line trains toward Berryessa and Dublin will be spaced more evenly. BART says the current pattern of three minutes followed by 17 minutes will change to eight minutes followed by 12 minutes. The agency says that change should reduce platform waits and crowding for riders traveling toward Bay Fair, Dublin and Berryessa, although it does not guarantee that every trip will be shorter or free of delays.

Bay Fair transfer change

Bay Fair will become especially important for riders connecting between Dublin and Berryessa service. BART says the new schedule creates a cross-platform transfer for Dublin Blue Line riders traveling to Berryessa on the Orange Line, as well as for the reverse trip. The agency says the trains will pull up together; the current transfer wait is 19 minutes.

The Aug. 10 Blue Line weekday timetable lists Bay Fair and San Leandro on Dublin/Pleasanton service. The Green Line timetable lists Bay Fair and San Leandro on Berryessa/North San José service, providing the station-level schedules relevant to the connection.

The transfer improvement is specific to the Dublin-to-Berryessa connection described by BART. It should not be read as a promise of shorter travel times for every San Leandro rider.

Check the new timetable

BART has posted separate weekday and weekend schedules that begin Aug. 10. Its schedules page says the Trip Planner will be updated soon to reflect the change, but riders should use the timetable for the relevant line and day when planning a trip.

For San Leandro-area riders, the practical steps are to recheck departure times, allow for a different train-arrival pattern at Bay Fair and consider the possibility of additional capacity on some peak Green and Blue Line trains. The new service begins Monday, Aug. 10, 2026.
