City hiring police officers and key staff

Bond projects still reshaping streets, safety, and parks
Major projects funded by the cityโs general obligation bonds continue to move forward. Recent status updates show several transportation improvements marked complete, including work at SHโ117 and Route 66, while widening and resurfacing of Dewey Avenue and Mayfield Street remain in process.
On the public safety side, replacement of Fire Station 3, upgrades to police vehicles, radios, and technology, and refurbishment of two fire trucks are reported as complete, while a new fire training center is still in progress.
