Homicide Investigation in Downtown Seattle
Seattle police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue. At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Sinking Ship parking garage. Upon arrival, they found a man with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. A second victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Two other victims were treated for graze wounds and are in stable condition. Detectives believe a physical altercation escalated into a gunfight involving multiple individuals. The investigation is ongoing.

Black History Month Museum Opens
Rainier Avenue Radio presents “Call to Conscience,” a Black History Month museum running from February 1 to 28 at the historic Columbia City Theater. The museum features immersive installations and programs celebrating the legacy and contributions of Black communities in Seattle and Tacoma. Highlights include exhibits on the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party, the Hartsfield Enslaved Quilt Collection, and Jackson Street Jazz, among others. Admission is free, and the museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
