Strathmore Mansion to Be Named for Donor Carol Trawick

Strathmore’s Mansion in North Bethesda will be known as The Trawick Mansion at Strathmore after a major gift from Carol Trawick, the arts organization’s former board chair. The MoCo Show and The Baltimore Banner reported Strathmore’s announcement on October 14, 2026.

The gift was described as the largest individual donation in Strathmore’s history. The Banner specifies that comparison as the organization’s 43-year history as an arts venue.

The MoCo Show reported that the gift will establish an endowment to support the Mansion’s programming, maintenance, operations and administration. The endowment is intended to support the venue; the reports do not quantify its expected effect.

The Banner said the donation amount was not disclosed. The reports did not specify when the new name takes effect.

Strathmore lists the Mansion at 10701 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda. Visitors and participants in its programming will encounter the announced name, while the endowment is intended to support the venue’s ongoing work.
