First Friday leads into a busy weekend

Downtown is coming off a lively First Friday on Tarpon Avenue, with street vendors, food and live music drawing crowds Friday night. That energy carries into the weekend with more performances at local venues, including 90s and 2000s rock sets, singer–songwriters and bar shows across town.

Several spots along the Sponge Docks and the U.S. 19 corridor are hosting evening shows tonight, giving residents a mix of family-friendly and late-night options close to home.

Festival day on Keystone and at the waterfront

Today’s daytime highlight is an Orthodox family festival on Keystone Road, offering food, kids’ activities and a chance for the community to gather outdoors. Elsewhere in the city, a youth t-ball “chill and grill” event and a car, truck and Jeep show at a local wing restaurant add to the neighborhood feel.

Over at the waterfront, a dockside party with drink specials and music is planned for tonight, keeping the Sponge Docks busy well into the evening.
