Crime: Tullahoma man arrested on child exploitation charge

Authorities in Coffee County say a Tullahoma man has been arrested on an aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor charge after investigators executed a search warrant at his home this week. Court documents report that digital media with explicit images involving a child were seized, and the suspect allegedly admitted paying for the material. He is being held ahead of a bond hearing set for Monday morning in Coffee County General Sessions Court.

Military: Guard’s Best Warrior competition comes to town

Soldiers with the Tennessee Army National Guard spent Friday in Tullahoma for the opening day of the 30th Troop Command Best Warrior Competition. Photos released by the Guard show participants qualifying on their weapons and facing board-style interviews, part of a multi-day test of fitness, skills and leadership. The event highlights the long-running military training presence in the Tullahoma area and brings visiting units into the local community for the weekend.

Traffic: I‑24 work and hazmat cleanup affect local travel

State transportation officials are warning Coffee County drivers to expect changing conditions on I‑24 and nearby routes. Construction continues on the new overpass at Wattendorf Memorial Highway and AEDC Road near mile marker 117, with short flagging operations possible as trucks move in and out of the work zone. In addition, a hazmat cleanup was scheduled overnight Friday on eastbound I‑24 near mile marker 115.5, with a temporary lane closure and troopers on site to manage traffic.

Drivers heading through Coffee County are also advised to watch for utility work and lane closures along Hillsboro Boulevard between Doak Road and Asbury Road next week, with flaggers and reduced speeds during daytime hours.

Weather: Cold, breezy start to the weekend

After a sunny but blustery Friday, colder air is settling over Tullahoma for Saturday, with temperatures struggling to reach the upper 30s and a noticeable north wind. Conditions are expected to stay dry, and forecasters say a gradual warmup should return early next week, bringing highs back into the 50s.
