Warner Robins Advances Affordable Housing and Downtown Revitalization
Warner Robins, GA — February 4, 2026 — The city is making strides in affordable housing and downtown redevelopment, aiming to enhance community living and economic growth.
Affordable Housing Developments
Warner Robins is progressing with initiatives to provide affordable housing options for its residents. A recent ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of eight new townhomes on Airman Boulevard. These homes are part of the city’s commitment to expanding quality housing ownership, particularly for working families, including teachers, police officers, and hospital staff. The project was made possible through a $1.5 million grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Community Home Investment Program (CHIP).
Downtown Revitalization Efforts
As part of the ongoing Operation Reawaken, Warner Robins celebrated a significant milestone with the demolition of a 17,823 square-foot structure at Commercial Circle. This marks the largest demolition to date under the initiative, aiming to eliminate blight and pave the way for new growth and opportunity in the downtown area. Mayor LaRhonda Patrick emphasized the city’s commitment to building a stronger, safer, and more vibrant community through these efforts.
Community Engagement and Future Plans
The city continues to engage with residents and local businesses to ensure that redevelopment projects align with community needs and aspirations. Future plans include the construction of a mixed-use development near Commercial Circle, featuring over 82,000 square feet of commercial retail space and 150,000 square feet of residential development. This project aims to create a ‘live, work, play’ hub for locals and visitors, contributing to the economic growth and revitalization of Warner Robins.
