Weatherford schedules hearings on proposed 31-acre multifamily rezoning

Weatherford has scheduled two public hearings on a request to rezone approximately 31.01 acres at 703 West Park Avenue for multifamily residential use.

The first hearing is set for Aug. 12, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. before the Weatherford Planning and Zoning Commission. A second hearing is scheduled for Aug. 25, 2026, at 6 p.m. before the Weatherford City Council.

Both hearings are scheduled at Weatherford City Hall, 303 Palo Pinto Street. The applicant is identified as Glenn Lynch.

What the proposal would change

The request seeks to change the property’s zoning from AG Agriculture to R3 Multifamily Residential, with a planned-unit-development overlay. The tract is located along West Park Avenue and covers about 31.01 acres.

A rezoning request is not an approval to build. If approved, the change could allow multifamily housing on the property and alter the existing land-use pattern along West Park Avenue. People who live or travel nearby could eventually see effects related to traffic, utility demand, construction activity and neighborhood density.

The city notice does not identify a proposed number of housing units, the project’s density, a site layout or a traffic analysis. Those details are important to understanding the eventual scale and design of any development, but they are not established by the zoning request itself.
