Fireworks: not permitted in West Bend

The City of West Bend reminds residents that fireworks are not permitted within the City of West Bend.

This aligns with the city’s municipal code, which regulates fireworks through a permit framework tied to state law: fireworks sales (including offering to sell or giving away fireworks) are prohibited within the city, and possession or use requires a permit.

Saturday parade: no parking and potential towing

On Saturday, July 4, parking is prohibited along the Fourth of July Family Parade route beginning at 7:00 a.m. Vehicles parked along the route may be ticketed and towed.

• Parade route (city notice): Main Street & Oak Street north through downtown to Cedar Street, North Main Street, and Regner Park.
• Parade timing (WTKM): steps off from Badger Middle School at 9:30 a.m.
• Where to meet (WTKM): staging area on Main Street in front of Badger Middle School—no later than 8:30 a.m.
• Route detail (WTKM): continuing north on Main Street to Cedar Street and 7th Avenue before returning to Main Street and concluding at Regner Park.

The city also notes there will be no Farmers Market on Saturday due to the parade.

Kilbourn Avenue road work: what’s closed and how to access Riverside Park

While the holiday events are underway, Kilbourn Avenue between Indiana Avenue and Winchester Drive remains closed to all non-residential traffic due to ongoing road reconstruction.

The city also spells out access exceptions for Riverside Park:

• Emergency vehicles and event vendors: may access Riverside Park via the Kilbourn Avenue/Eastern Avenue intersection.
• Kilbourn Avenue residents: may access their homes from Eastern Avenue during the fireworks event.
• Parking restriction: no street parking is permitted on Kilbourn Avenue between Indiana Avenue and Winchester Drive.

Fireworks at Riverside Park: around 9:30 p.m.

The community fireworks display at Riverside Park begins around 9:30 p.m. (at dusk).

For attendees, the city asks people to consider walking to and from Riverside Park to help reduce congestion.
