June wholesale report puts inventories at $944.7 billion and sales at $794.1 billion
U.S. merchant wholesalers held $944.7 billion in inventories at the end of June 2026, up 0.2% from May and 4.2% from a year earlier, the Census Bureau reported.
June sales totaled $794.1 billion, down 3.0% for the month but up 14.1% from June 2025. The inventory-to-sales ratio was 1.19, compared with 1.30 a year earlier.
The monthly inventory increase was within the Census Bureau’s margin of sampling error, so the agency said there was insufficient evidence that the actual change differed from zero. The next wholesale report, covering July, is scheduled for Sept. 10.
