Cuisinart Grill Brush Recall Expands to 3,625,800 Units
Conair expanded its national recall of Cuisinart metal-wire grill brushes on August 27, adding 1,905,805 brushes and bringing the cumulative recall total to exactly 3,625,800 units. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging consumers to stop using the brushes before Labor Day grilling.
The hazard is that small metal bristles can detach, remain on grill surfaces or stick to food. If swallowed, a bristle can cause serious internal injuries that may require surgery.
What changed on August 27
The expansion adds about 1.9 million brushes to Conair’s July 2 recall of 1,719,995 units. The combined figure is 3,625,800 recalled brushes.
The affected products were sold individually and in sets through Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx, Ross, Amazon, Cuisinart.com and other retailers and online sellers from June 2009 through March 2026. They generally sold for between $8 and $20.
What CPSC reported about the hazard
CPSC said Conair is aware of at least 54 reports and reviews in which small wire bristles detached from the brushes. That figure includes three reports involving consumers who swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove them from the digestive tract or throat.
The 54 reports and reviews should not be read as 54 confirmed injuries. The recall is a remedy action addressing a reported hazard; it does not mean every recalled brush caused an injury or that every consumer who used one was harmed.
Which brushes are covered
The recall covers Cuisinart metal-wire grill brushes with black plastic, stainless steel or wood handles. Previously listed models include CCB-100, CCB-4125, CCB-5014, CCB-6450, CCB-8012, CCB-4114, CCB-W2 and CSBS-777.
The August 27 expansion adds models including CGWM-024, CGWM-059, FCB-501, CGS-W18, CCB-134, CGWM-061, CB-395, CCB-3001, CGWM-077, CGWM-058, CCB-012/021, CGWM-060 and FBH-51. Certain grill-tool sets are also included. CPSC says additional Cuisinart wire-bristle brushes sold individually and in sets before 2020 are included, so consumers should check the official notice rather than rely only on a model number.
What consumers should do
Stop using any recalled brush immediately. Do not try to clean it and continue using it. Contact Conair at 888-520-1304, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time, or use the recall portal at Recallrtr.
Consumers can request a full refund or a Cuisinart.com credit equal to the refund plus 20% of the cash refund amount. Conair will provide disposal instructions, and consumers should follow them rather than reselling or donating the brush.
If a recalled brush was recently used, inspect the grill surface and food carefully for detached bristles. Anyone who may have swallowed a metal bristle, or who develops unexplained throat or abdominal pain after eating grilled food, should seek medical advice promptly.

The CPSC recall notice and Cuisinart’s safety-recall page are the best places to confirm model information, affected sets, remedy instructions and contact details. Consumers should not assume that every wire-bristle grill brush from every manufacturer is covered by this specific recall.
