U.S. and Uzbekistan Announce Early Trade Deal Step as Talks Accelerate
The United States and Uzbekistan announced an โearly harvestโ in reciprocal trade and investment discussions in August 2026, with the two countries agreeing to accelerate talks, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
The development is an early step in the administrationโs 2026 reciprocal-trade program, not a completed trade agreement. The program centers on bilateral negotiations involving trade concessions, investment commitments, non-tariff barriers and modified tariffs. The U.S.-Uzbekistan announcement could affect future discussions over market access and supply-chain relationships, but it does not establish a final outcome for either country.
The USTR August release listing does not provide the complete list of early-harvest commitments or their implementation dates. It also does not identify a tariff rate or investment value tied to the announcement.
The next known step for the U.S.-Uzbekistan track is accelerated reciprocal trade and investment talks. USTRโs August schedule also listed a separate Aug. 5โ9, 2026, negotiating round under the U.S.-Kenya Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership, illustrating that the administration was advancing multiple bilateral trade discussions during the same period.
