WNBA’s 2026 Broadcast Expansion Spreads Games Across Seven Platforms

The WNBA’s 30th season is putting a record 216 regular-season games in front of national audiences across seven platform groups, but the expanded distribution also means fans will need to track where each game is available.

The 216-game figure covers nationally distributed games and tentpole events. It is not the total number of games in the 2026 regular season, which includes 330 games.

Where regular-season games will air

The national schedule includes 30 games across ABC and ESPN, 22 across NBC, Peacock and NBCSN, 30 regular-season games on Prime Video plus the Commissioner’s Cup championship, 20 on CBS and Paramount+, 50 on ION, 48 on USA Network and 15 on NBA TV.

The WNBA’s official partner table lists Prime Video’s package as 31 games when the Commissioner’s Cup championship is included. The partner inventories should not be added together as 216 unique games without considering how broadcasts may be shared or simulcast across platforms.

The arrangement combines broadcast television, cable networks and streaming services. There is no single national channel carrying every WNBA game in 2026.

Playoffs begin Sept. 27

The current news peg is the playoff schedule released Sept. 9-10. The 2026 playoffs begin Sunday, Sept. 27, with the latest possible Finals date set for Oct. 31. The schedule and game times remain subject to change, and playoff seeding had not been finalized when the schedule was released.

First-round coverage is divided among Disney Networks, USA Network and Prime Video. Disney Networks will carry two first-round series, while USA Network and Prime Video will each carry one series. One semifinal series is assigned to Disney Networks, and the other is assigned to NBC, Peacock and NBCSN.

Peacock will stream every Finals game. Finals games will also air on NBC or USA Network. For Games 2-3 and 5-7, Peacock is scheduled to simulstream USA Network coverage produced by Versant’s USA Sports.

Peacock is therefore central to the Finals, but the broader postseason is not housed on one service. Viewers will need to check the platform assigned to each series and game.

What League Pass does — and does not do

WNBA League Pass will offer select live games during the season, along with next-day access to every matchup and on-demand coverage through the WNBA app or WNBA.com. Local blackouts may apply to live games.

League Pass provides additional access, but it does not guarantee that every game will be available live through the service or eliminate the need to check the national schedule.

What fans should plan for

Fans seeking complete live coverage may need access to several television or streaming platforms, depending on the game and postseason round. Some games will be available through broadcast television, while others will be carried through services or networks such as Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, USA Network or NBA TV.

The distribution strategy broadens the number of outlets carrying WNBA games, but it also makes the platform listed for each matchup more important. Fans should check the league schedule before assuming a regular-season or playoff game is available through a service they already use.
