ICAO: Fewer Aviation Accidents in 2025, but More Fatalities as Passenger Traffic Nears 5 Billion
Global aviation carried nearly 5 billion passengers in 2025 while recording fewer accidents and lower fatal-accident rates. The International Civil Aviation Organization said total fatalities nevertheless increased, keeping prevention of rare catastrophic events at the center of safety oversight.
