Federal forecasters flag high-wind and wildfire risks across Northern and Central Plains
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center identified a slight risk of high winds across parts of the Northern and Central Plains on Aug. 4–5, warning that hot, dry and gusty conditions could raise wildfire risk. Separate National Weather Service records document tornado and severe-thunderstorm warnings in southern Wisconsin.
