On January 20, 2026, Glendale police responded to a report of a deceased male in his 40s in the 300 block of W. Broadway. The victim had sustained fatal injuries consistent with a stabbing. Through diligent investigation, 44-year-old Mario Medina-Restrepo was identified as the suspect and arrested in Santa Monica on January 22, 2026. The incident appears to have resulted from an altercation between the suspect and the deceased, not a random act of violence.
