Escondido, CA — January 31, 2026 — Construction on the Escondido Creek Trail continues, with temporary closures expected in the coming weeks due to ongoing work.
Current Construction Activities
The city is actively installing irrigation and electrical systems on both sides of the trail between Rose Street and Midway Drive. Additionally, decorative pavers are being installed on Date Street to enhance the trail’s aesthetics.

- Day-to-day temporary closures on the north and south sides during irrigation and electrical work.
- A continued long-term closure at Date Street on both sides of the creek during improvement work.
Project Details
The Escondido Creek Trail project began in February 2025, with construction moving from west to east. The project is expected to be completed in late 2025, pending any unforeseen delays. Construction hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding city-recognized holidays.
