Albuquerque Warehouse Destroyed in Early Morning Fire
Albuquerque, NM — February 1, 2026 — A downtown warehouse was destroyed in a fire early Wednesday morning, marking the third such incident in three years.
At approximately 3:31 a.m. on January 28, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to reports of a fire at a warehouse on Sixth Street, just south of Interstate 40. Within 24 minutes, crews had the blaze under control. Investigators believe the fire was started by homeless individuals outside the building, which then spread inside. No injuries were reported.
This incident follows previous fires at the same location in May 2025 and December 2021. The 2021 fire was particularly significant due to the presence of movie props inside the warehouse. As a result of the latest fire, the warehouse has been added to the city’s problematic property list, prompting action from code enforcement officers.
