The National Weather Service has issued a dust storm warning for Albuquerque and surrounding areas, including I-25, I-40, and US 550. The warning is in effect until 4:25 p.m. Drivers are advised to pull off the road as far as possible, stop and turn off all lights, set the emergency brake, and take their foot off the brake to ensure taillights aren’t illuminated. Sudden drops to zero visibility are possible during dust storms. Similar warnings have been issued for areas near Ruidoso, Roswell, and Chaves County.
Arson Suspect Arrested in Albuquerque
Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with arson attacks on a Tesla facility and the Republican Party of New Mexico headquarters. The suspect, Jamison Wagner, 40, was taken into custody after evidence linked him to both incidents. The Tesla showroom was targeted in February 2025, resulting in damage to two vehicles and graffiti on the building and other vehicles. The GOP headquarters was attacked in March 2025, with the entryway destroyed and graffiti found at the scene. Investigators connected both arsons through the suspect’s use of homemade incendiary devices and surveillance footage.
