Explosion at Santa Clara Chemical Facility
On Saturday afternoon, an explosion occurred at a chemical facility on Norman Avenue. A hydrogen tank being fueled began to leak, leading to the explosion and subsequent fire. The Santa Clara Fire Department responded promptly, extinguishing the fire by 6:30 p.m. All personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported. Nearby businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure. The incident is under investigation to determine the cause of the leak and explosion.
New Housing Project Approved in Santa Clara
The Santa Clara City Council has approved a new housing development project at 2518 Mission College Blvd. The project will add 1,792 apartments, including 268 affordable units, to the area.
