Public safety nearby: Kirkwood restaurant case

Just east of Ballwin, charges have been filed against a woman accused of firing a shot inside a Kirkwood restaurant after a dispute over an order. Prosecutors say the bullet struck a wall and refrigerator, and no one was hit, but the case is being treated as a serious assault.

Court documents describe a chaotic scene in front of customers and staff, including the suspect’s young child, who was reportedly between her and the employee when the gun went off. The incident was captured on surveillance video, and the woman is being held on a substantial cash-only bond while the case moves forward.

Weekend plans for local families

If you are looking for something lighter this evening, several kid-focused events are scheduled within an easy drive of Ballwin.
