Police chase after reported rifle display ends in arrests

A reported midday incident in east Fort Worth escalated into a multi-mile police pursuit over the weekend. Police were called after a driver in a white SUV was reported to have pointed a rifle near Avenue E. Officers later spotted a matching vehicle, attempted a stop, and the driver fled.

Motorcyclist dies in late-night I-30 crash near Forest Park

A fatal crash on Interstate 30 near Forest Park Boulevard shut down westbound lanes for hours late Friday night as investigators worked the scene. Police said a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle were involved, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local private school says it will sit out the new state voucher program (for now)

Fort Worth Country Day said it will not participate in the state’s Education Freedom Account voucher program for the 2026-2027 school year, describing the decision as a cautious first step while the program rolls out.

The program is expected to offer up to $10,000 per eligible student (and more for certain students with disabilities), but families would still typically need to cover remaining tuition costs at many private schools.
