DUI Arrests, Police Chase Crash and Injury Wreck Lead Fresno Headlines

It was a busy weekend for Fresno police, with multiple enforcement operations and crashes making headlines across the city.

Three Arrested After Stolen Truck Chase

Three suspects were taken into custody Sunday night after a police chase involving a stolen Ford F-150 ended in a crash near Belmont and Abby avenues.

Officers spotted the truck, which had been reported stolen two days earlier, and attempted a stop. The driver fled, leading police on a pursuit before crashing into a staircase in a residential neighborhood. The suspects then ran through nearby backyards before officers established a perimeter and arrested all three. No major injuries were reported.

DUI Checkpoint Nets Five Arrests

Fresno Police also conducted a DUI checkpoint Saturday night at Maple Avenue and Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

Between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., officers screened 285 vehicles. Five drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and 26 others were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license. A DUI saturation patrol is scheduled for March 14 as part of ongoing enforcement efforts.

Three Hospitalized in Four-Vehicle Crash

Earlier in the weekend, a four-vehicle collision at Maple Avenue and Tulare Street sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. Thursday and temporarily knocked out the intersection’s traffic signal. All three injured occupants were reported in stable condition. Authorities are still investigating the cause.

Restaurant Vandalized in Northeast Fresno

A northeast Fresno restaurant was vandalized again over the weekend, with a glass door shattered at Colorado Grill. The repeated damage has raised concerns among nearby business owners.
