Miami Open, EDM Awards and Ultra Festival Lead Busy Week in the Magic City

It is shaping up to be a high-energy stretch across Miami as sports fans and music lovers prepare for a packed calendar of major events.

Miami Open Begins Tuesday

The 2026 Miami Open kicks off March 17 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, launching nearly two weeks of world-class tennis.

The tournament, now in its 41st edition, features both ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 competition. Defending champions Jakub Mensik and Aryna Sabalenka return to headline a field that includes many of the top-ranked players in the world. Organizers expect large crowds throughout the March 17 to 29 run, bringing a noticeable boost to local hotels, restaurants and rideshare traffic.

EDM Awards Set for South Beach

Music Week excitement also ramps up later this month. The 2026 Electronic Dance Music Awards will take place March 27 at the Clevelander on South Beach.

The fan-voted show celebrates top songs, artists and festivals from the past year and traditionally draws international visitors ahead of Ultra Music Festival weekend. Hospitality businesses along Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue are already preparing for increased foot traffic.

Ultra Festival Returns to Bayfront Park

Ultra Music Festival is scheduled for March 27 to 29 at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. The three-day event is expected to attract tens of thousands of attendees from around the globe.

This year’s lineup features a mix of veteran electronic artists and rising names, reinforcing Miami’s role as a global hub for dance music. City officials typically coordinate traffic management and public safety planning in the days leading up to the festival.

With major tennis matches, beachfront award shows and one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals all converging, Miami is heading into one of its busiest and most economically impactful weeks of the spring season.
