AAA’s price check dated July 28, 2026, put regular gasoline at $4.444 per gallon and diesel at $5.466 per gallon. Both averages increased from the previous day and were higher than one week and one month earlier.
Regular gasoline continues to climb
The East Valley regular-gas average rose 0.5 cents from the previous AAA check. It was up 14.9 cents from a week earlier and 49.8 cents from a month earlier. Compared with the same period last year, the average was $1.117 higher per gallon.
These figures are an East Valley metro average, not an official standalone average for Queen Creek. They provide regional context, while prices at individual Queen Creek stations can differ based on the station, brand, membership requirements, location, traffic, and timing.
Diesel remains above $5.45
Diesel reached an East Valley average of $5.466 per gallon, up 0.5 cents from the prior day. The price was 21.9 cents higher than a week earlier and 50.6 cents higher than a month earlier. Compared with last year, diesel was up $1.838 per gallon.
The higher diesel average may matter most to contractors, landscapers, delivery operators, farmers, service fleets, and other businesses that use diesel-powered vehicles or equipment. Higher fuel costs can add pressure to operating budgets and may become one factor businesses watch when setting delivery charges, service-call prices, or project bids. The effect will vary by company and cannot be determined from the regional average alone.
Queen Creek station prices vary
A Costco Gas Prices listing for the station at 20260 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek showed regular gasoline at $4.34 per gallon, below the East Valley average. The listing showed diesel as unavailable at that location.
The station figure is a time-sensitive snapshot rather than a citywide average. Costco Gas Prices cautions that online listings may differ from the price displayed at the pump when a purchase is made. A single station can therefore be below or above the regional benchmark without contradicting the broader AAA data.
What drivers should watch
For commuters and households, the latest numbers add pressure to fuel budgets. Contractors, delivery operators, restaurants, service businesses, farmers, and other diesel users may face greater per-gallon costs than regular-gas drivers. Weekend travelers and local event attendees may also notice the difference when planning longer trips.
