Antioch Fuel Check: Costco Gas $5.159, 7-Eleven Diesel $6.849
Two Antioch station checks on Wednesday, July 29, showed regular gasoline at $5.159 per gallon at the Costco station on Verne Roberts Circle and diesel at $6.849 per gallon at the 7-Eleven at 2700 Hillcrest Avenue.
Those are individual station prices, not a verified Antioch-wide average. The locations are different, so the figures should not be treated as a same-site comparison of gasoline and diesel. Prices can also change during the day and may depend on membership, payment method or rewards programs.
Regular gas at Costco
The Costco station at 2201 Verne Roberts Circle listed regular gasoline at $5.159 per gallon when checked July 29. The station-price listing said it had been updated minutes earlier, while also warning that the pump price at the time of purchase controls.
AAA’s California fuel-price table listed the statewide regular-gas average at $5.646 per gallon as of July 29. The checked Costco price was therefore 48.7 cents below that statewide benchmark. AAA’s figure is a California comparison, not an Antioch average.
Diesel at 7-Eleven
The 7-Eleven at 2700 Hillcrest Ave. listed diesel at $6.849 per gallon. The official station page said its fuel prices were updated within 24 hours, so diesel drivers should confirm the price on the sign or pump before filling up.
AAA listed California’s diesel average at $6.892 per gallon as of July 29. The Hillcrest Avenue listing was 4.3 cents below that statewide figure. That comparison should not be read as evidence that diesel prices are moving the same way as regular gasoline at every Antioch station.
What the prices mean locally
For commuters and households, a station price below the statewide average can reduce the cost of a fill-up, but the practical savings depend on how far a driver travels, whether Costco membership is required and whether waiting in line or making a special trip offsets the difference.
Diesel prices matter especially for delivery drivers, contractors, landscaping crews, service businesses and operators of work trucks. Frequent refueling can affect operating budgets and may be reflected indirectly in delivery charges, service prices or scheduling decisions. Those are practical cost pressures, not proof of a citywide price trend.
Drivers should compare several nearby stations and check the posted pump price before buying. Share the highest and lowest regular-gas and diesel prices you are seeing in Antioch.
