Lidl Expands Eridanous Cookie Recall to 10 Jurisdictions

Lidl US expanded its recall of Eridanous shortbread cookies on July 31, 2026, after identifying additional products with foreign-language packaging that lacked English ingredient, nutrition and allergen declarations, according to the FDA recall notice.

The expansion covers two 11.6-ounce (330-gram) cookie products sold at Lidl stores in 10 jurisdictions. The undeclared allergens are wheat, soy, milk, egg and tree nut (coconut). The concern is greatest for people with an allergy or sensitivity to those ingredients.

Which Eridanous cookies are recalled?

Consumers who bought Eridanous shortbread cookies at Lidl between July 15 and July 28, 2026, should compare their boxes with the following product details:

• Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating & Apricot Filling — 11.6 oz (330 g) box, UPC 4056489125839.
• Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Apricot Filling and Cocoa Topping with Coconut Sprinkles — 11.6 oz (330 g) box, UPC 4056489125846.

The products were distributed to Lidl stores in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

Why the products were recalled

The documented issue is incomplete English labeling, not a reported contamination event. The affected packages used foreign-language ingredient and nutrition panels and did not include the required English allergen declarations.

People with an allergy or sensitivity to wheat, soy, milk, egg or tree nut (coconut) could face a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat an affected product. The recall does not mean every consumer faces the same health risk.

How this differs from the July 24 recall

The July 31 action expands Lidl’s original July 24, 2026, recall. The first recall covered the chocolate truffle coating and apricot filling cookie with UPC 4056489125839 and products distributed from July 15 through July 22.

The expansion includes that product across the broader July 15-through-July 28 distribution window and adds the coconut-sprinkle variant. Lidl said a review of supplier distribution records identified additional units that may have the same foreign-language packaging error.

What shoppers should do

People with the listed allergies or sensitivities should not eat the recalled cookies. Consumers should discard the products or return them to the nearest Lidl store for a full refund. A receipt is not required for a return.

As of July 31, no illnesses had been reported in connection with the recall.
