High Point Gas Near $3.80; Diesel Tops $5.30 at Local Station
Regular gasoline was listed at $3.799 per gallon and diesel at $5.399 Monday, August 3, at the 7-Eleven at 1440 Greensboro Road in High Point. The station-level prices show a clear split between the two fuels: regular gas is near $3.80, while diesel is above $5.30.
Those are prices at one specific station, not a citywide High Point average. Pump prices can vary by location, brand, payment method and timing, so drivers should compare nearby stations before filling up.
Regular gas is nearly flat regionally
AAA’s August 3 Greensboro metro average for regular gasoline was $3.791 per gallon. That was down 0.1 cent from the previous week, when the average was $3.792, leaving the regional regular-gas price essentially unchanged.
AAA listed North Carolina’s statewide regular-gas average at $3.789 per gallon. That statewide number is context for the High Point area, not a High Point pump average.
Diesel is moving higher
Diesel showed a different pattern. AAA listed the Greensboro metro average at $5.362 per gallon on August 3, up 6.8 cents from $5.294 a week earlier. The statewide diesel average was $5.334 per gallon.
The checked High Point station’s $5.399 diesel price was above both the Greensboro metro and North Carolina averages. The available price data does not establish why diesel rose, but the higher cost matters more immediately for people and businesses that rely on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Who feels the difference?
For most gasoline commuters, the nearly flat weekly regional average points to little change compared with the last check. Even small price differences can add up for households with long commutes, multiple vehicles or weekend travel plans.
Diesel costs can put pressure on contractors, delivery operators, freight businesses, farmers and service companies because fuel is part of the cost of moving equipment, materials and products. Restaurants and other local businesses may also face indirect transportation costs, although the available data does not show whether any High Point business has changed prices in response.
The next price check will show whether diesel remains above $5.30 at the checked station and whether regular gasoline begins moving more clearly in either direction. Share the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing around High Point.
