Murfreesboro Voters Face Aug. 6 Election With Mayor and Three Council Seats on Ballot
Murfreesboro voters will decide the city’s mayor and three City Council seats Thursday, Aug. 6. Polls are scheduled to close at 7 p.m.
Early voting ran from July 17 through Aug. 1 and has ended. Voters who have not cast a ballot should use the Rutherford County Election Commission’s official voting-information resources to verify their Election Day polling details before Thursday.
What is on the ballot
The mayoral contest is between Nathan Bennett and Shane McFarland.
Five candidates are competing for three City Council seats: Jami Averwater, Madelyn Scales Harris, Austin Maxwell, Jacob Morphis and Jeffrey Wooden.
Aug. 6 is part of a broader Rutherford County election schedule that includes multiple contests. This guide is limited to Murfreesboro’s municipal mayoral and City Council races.
