Huntersville schedules hearing on two rezonings, recreation rules

Huntersville has scheduled a public hearing on three local planning matters, including two rezoning petitions and a proposed change to the town’s indoor-recreation rules.

The hearing is set for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Huntersville Town Hall, 14704 N. Old Statesville Road.

Petition R26-07, filed by Bi-Part Development LLC, concerns 23325 Maple Branch Drive. The request seeks permission for two additional flex buildings on Parcel A. Petition R26-09 concerns the northeast corner of Hambright Road and Mount Holly-Huntersville Road. That proposal would add land and make minor revisions to an earlier conditional rezoning.

The third item, text amendment TA 26-01, was initiated by the Town of Huntersville. It would increase the square footage allowed for indoor recreation in the Corporate Business district. Together, the proposals could affect commercial flex space, an existing development approval and the amount of indoor-recreation space permitted in a local business district. The public notice says substantial changes may occur after public comment. The hearing is the next scheduled step; the notice does not report final decisions, vote totals, revised conditions or effective dates for the three matters.
