Oshkosh, Algoma complete joint fire and EMS study
The City of Oshkosh and Town of Algoma have completed a joint study of fire and emergency medical services, the city said in an Oct. 16, 2026, announcement. McMahon Associates was jointly engaged to examine current operations, service demand and response capacity, shared-service opportunities, and long-term financial considerations. The announcement does not describe the studyโs findings.
Representatives from both communities are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Oshkosh Seniors Center South building, 200 N. Campbell Road, in the Oasis room. The meeting is open to the public and is intended to review the findings and discuss possible next steps. No changes to fire or EMS services have been decided. The Town of Algoma, which borders Oshkosh in Winnebago County, describes its fire department as volunteer and says it has a first-responder unit.
