Hoops for Homeless tournament moves to Oct. 31
Organizers have moved the 11th annual Hoops for Homeless three-on-three tournament from Oct. 17 at Osgood Park to Oct. 31, 2026, at New Britain High School. The tournament is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The accompanying fundraiser has also been rescheduled, from Oct. 16 to Oct. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Back Nine Tavern at Stanley Golf Course. The City of New Britain listed the date and location change in an Oct. 16 announcement.
Teams in grades 5 through high school from across Connecticut may register through New Britain Recreation. Organizers say the event has raised more than $80,000 over 10 years, primarily for scholarships for New Britain High School graduates who experienced housing instability and resources for students and families in need.
