Healthy Blue members can choose a new plan through Nov. 16
Louisiana Medicaid members currently enrolled in Healthy Blue can choose a replacement managed-care plan through Nov. 16. The selection period opened Oct. 15, and a chosen plan is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2027. Members who do not choose will be assigned another managed-care organization for that date.
Healthy Blueโs managed-care contract ends Dec. 31, 2026, and the plan will no longer be available to Medicaid members starting Jan. 1. The change applies only to current Healthy Blue members. They can choose online at myplan.healthy.la.gov, through the Healthy Louisiana app, or by calling 1-855-229-6848, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Louisiana Department of Health says receiving plans will honor general prior authorizations for up to 60 days or until the authorizationโs end date, whichever comes first. Pharmacy prior authorizations will be honored through their expiration dates. Separate legislative committee materials say receiving plans will transfer high-need membersโ case-management files and provide warm handoffs for people needing ongoing care coordination.
LDH says it will make every effort to keep families together and assign members to plans that allow them to see the same providers. Those efforts are not guarantees.
