Westchester County Police were reviewing video to try to identify a passenger who punched a Liberty Lines bus driver at McLean Avenue and South Broadway in Yonkers, according to police accounts. The incident happened at about 11:09 a.m. Oct. 20, 2026.
Police said the passenger had been waiting to exit when the rear door did not open fast enough. The passenger got off, walked around to the driverโs side, punched the driver once through an open window and ran away.
The driver could not describe the passenger and declined medical attention, according to the police account. A Daily Voice report published Oct. 20 attributed details to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran OโLeary; Yonkers Times published the police account the next day. Both described video review as an effort to identify the passenger, not a reported identification or arrest. Video review was the next investigative step described.
