Construction is underway on a five-span concrete bridge across Isaac Verot Coulee, linking Alastair Grove Lane and McCord Drive between The Vineyard and Sonoma Gardens near Vincent Road in Lafayette. The project is part of Frem Boustany Drive Extension Phase 2. The bridge is designed for vehicle lanes and sidewalks and includes roadway approaches and drainage-channel improvements.
Lafayette Consolidated Government says construction began in July 2026. By its October 22 update, crews had driven the pilings; pouring pile caps was the next phase before bridge-deck installation.
The city awarded Reliant Industrial Solutions LLC $2,949,884.65 on February 12. That was the lowest of four bids opened February 5; the next-lowest bid, $3,418,722.10, was $468,837.45 higher. LCG says city and parish tax dollars and multi-year bonds fund the work. It estimates completion in November 2027, weather permitting. The bridge was not open to traffic as of October 22, so residents cannot yet use the planned connection.
