Democrats won control of both Wisconsin legislative chambers, taking a 53-46 Assembly majority and an 18-15 Senate majority, according to unofficial results reported by Wisconsin Public Radio. The party gained eight Assembly seats and three Senate seats while retaining its own competitive districts.
The results, together with David Crowleyโs victory for governor, put Democrats in position to control the governorship and Legislature for the first time since 2010. The Senate pickups included victories by Robyn Vining, Trevor Jung and Jenna Jacobson; in the Assembly, Democrats moved beyond the five-seat gain they needed to take control.
