Milwaukee police estimated turnout at more than 750,000 for the Brewersโ Oct. 30 championship parade and lakefront rally combined. That was roughly 350,000 above the cityโs advance expectation of about 400,000, or nearly 1.9 times its planning figure. The comparison uses an attendance estimate and an advance expectation, not two final counts.
In Milwaukee, the parade traveled through downtown and ended at Henry Maier Festival Park, where the rally was held at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Milwaukee Public Schools canceled classes that day.
The celebration followed the Brewersโ 4-1 Game 5 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Oct. 28, securing the teamโs first World Series title. The Brewers won the series four games to one. On Oct. 30, police said preliminary research suggested the crowd may have been Wisconsinโs largest single-day gathering.
