The 2026 Indiana State Fair is scheduled to open Friday, Aug. 7, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis. The fair is listed to continue through Aug. 23.
The published schedule identifies Aug. 7-9 as opening weekend and says the fair will be closed on Mondays during its run. The event is scheduled at 1202 E. 38th St. in Indianapolis.
The fair’s 2026 event listing identifies a baseball theme. The listing describes a planned event, rather than an event already underway.
Farm and pioneer programming listed throughout the fair
The Pioneer Farm & Home Show is also scheduled for Aug. 7-23 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, placing it across the same dates as the fair.
The Indiana Office of Tourism Development’s listing describes planned Pioneer Farm & Home Show programming that includes steam-engine demonstrations, tractors, farm-animal demonstrations, pioneer music and a daily parade.
The programming provides a separate set of scheduled activities within the fair period, alongside the fair’s baseball theme. The available listings establish the schedule and the described programming, but do not provide attendance projections.
What visitors can plan for
People planning a visit can use the listed opening-weekend dates and Monday closures when choosing a day to attend. The fair is scheduled to be open during the opening weekend of Aug. 7-9, while Mondays are identified as closed days during the event’s Aug. 7-23 run.
The fairgrounds event listing says events carry a $10 facility charge per vehicle. The listing describes that amount as a vehicle facility charge; it does not establish the charge as a general admission price.
The schedule identifies the fair’s opening on Aug. 7 as the next known milestone. The source packet does not include a confirmed traffic-management plan, parking plan or estimates of attendance, so those details have not been established in the published information reviewed for this report.
