Annapolis Gas & Diesel Watch: AAA regular and diesel both edge up today

In Annapolis-area averages from AAA’s latest price check on July 21, 2026, both regular gas and on-highway diesel moved up versus yesterday. Regular rose slightly, while diesel is farther above last week, last month, and—especially—last year.

Regular gas: AAA’s Annapolis metro average rises about 1.4¢ from yesterday

For Annapolis metro regular gas (AAA): the current average is $4.0150 per gallon. That’s up 1.4¢ from yesterday’s $4.0010. The price is also well higher than recent comparisons: +14.4¢ versus week ago ($3.8710), +21.5¢ versus month ago ($3.8000), and roughly +88¢ versus year ago ($3.1370).

Diesel: AAA’s Annapolis metro average up 1.9¢ today, with a much bigger year-over-year gap

For the same Annapolis metro line item, AAA puts diesel at $5.2620 per gallon as of July 21, 2026. That’s up 1.9¢ from yesterday’s $5.2430. The jump is more noticeable over longer windows: +36.5¢ versus week ago ($4.8970), +33.0¢ versus month ago ($4.9320), and +148.4¢ versus year ago ($3.7780).

In the latest weekly U.S. data, the EIA reports for the week ending July 20, 2026 that regular gasoline averaged $4.001 per gallon (+14.6¢ vs week ago, +88¢ vs year ago) and on-highway diesel averaged $5.134 per gallon (+33.8¢ vs week ago, +$1.322 vs year ago).
