Aurora fuel prices cool, but diesel still swings by station
Colorado’s benchmark eased again, but Aurora station prices still range from $3.959 regular to $5.199 diesel, leaving room to shop around.
Regular gas and diesel are both easing in Colorado, but Aurora drivers still have plenty of reason to compare pumps before they fill up. AAA’s Colorado average for May 31 was $4.375 a gallon for regular and $5.243 for diesel. Regular was down 4.3 cents from yesterday and 28.9 cents from a week ago, while diesel was down 4 cents from yesterday and 26.3 cents from last week.
For metro context, EIA’s Denver gasoline benchmark was $4.261 for the week of May 25, down from $4.636 the week before. That is not a live Aurora street price, but it does match the softer direction in the broader market.
Aurora’s sampled pump prices still vary by stop
At the station level, the spread is what stands out. The 7-Eleven at 3200 Chambers Rd listed regular at $3.959 and diesel at $4.779. The 7-Eleven at 17050 Smith Rd showed regular at $3.969 and diesel at $4.779. The 7-Eleven at 599 S Airport Blvd was slightly higher on regular at $3.999 and higher on diesel at $5.199.
In this sample, regular gas is separated by just 4 cents a gallon. Diesel is a different story, with a 42-cent gap between the low and high examples. That matters for commuters, contractors, delivery drivers, service businesses, and weekend travelers who can save real money by choosing a cheaper stop.
For regular drivers, even a small difference can add up over repeated fill-ups. For diesel users, the savings show up faster because the starting price is higher and the spread is wider.
