Fort Worth gas watch: regular ticks up to $4.19, diesel holds above $5.21
AAA says Fort Worth regular gasoline is up to $4.193, while diesel holds above $5.20; one local station still prices both fuels lower today.
AAA’s latest Fort Worth-Arlington metro check puts regular gasoline at $4.193 a gallon and diesel at $5.211 on May 8, 2026. Regular is up 1.6 cents from yesterday and 21.3 cents from a week ago. Diesel moved the other way day to day, slipping 4.2 cents from yesterday, but it is still 24.4 cents higher than a week ago.
That split matters in different ways. Regular gasoline is the bigger cost for commuters, parents running errands, and households that fill up once or twice a week. Diesel is the pressure point for contractors, landscapers, plumbers, delivery drivers, freight operators, and anyone keeping a work truck or van moving. Even small changes can show up in route budgets, service quotes, and weekly operating costs.
Local pump prices still vary
A Fort Worth station check shows why it still pays to compare stops before you top off. The 7-Eleven on Boat Club Road lists regular at $4.079 and diesel at $5.099, both below the Fort Worth-Arlington average. That does not mean every station is cheaper. It does show that a short detour can still save money, especially for drivers filling larger tanks or buying fuel several times a week.
Compared with the Texas average, Fort Worth-Arlington is running a little higher on regular and a touch higher on diesel. The broader U.S. picture still looks expensive too: EIA‘s May 5 update put U.S. regular gasoline at $4.452 and on-highway diesel at $5.640. For Fort Worth drivers, the week-over-week comparison matters more than the day-to-day dip in diesel, because both fuels are still notably more expensive than they were last week.
If you’re seeing a high or low pump price in Fort Worth, share the station and the amount so other readers can compare notes before they fill up.
