Riyadh airport notice expires; operations reported suspended
King Khalid International Airportโs precautionary unavailability notice expired at midnight on Oct. 18 in Riyadh. Reports shortly after midnight said airport operations remained suspended, but scheduled passenger flights had not been confirmed as resumed by 8:32 a.m. Travelers should check their flight status with their airline.
NOTAM A3604/26 listed the airport as unavailable through 21:00 UTC on Oct. 17, equivalent to midnight in Riyadh. A separate notice, A3648/26, canceled A3490/26โnot A3604/26. A3490/26 concerned the airportโs availability as an alternate from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.
Saudi Arabiaโs General Authority of Civil Aviation said on Oct. 12 that it was extending the suspension of operational activities for facility-safety and operational-readiness checks. A separate notice listed a prior-permission requirement for arriving and departing traffic; it did not establish whether permission was granted.
