Clifton Heights police hiring moves to testing phase with June 20 exam
Clifton Heights PA – The borough’s full-time police officer hiring process is moving to June 20 testing in Media after the June 12 application deadline.
Clifton Heights Borough’s search for a full-time police officer has moved into the next stage after the June 12 application deadline passed, with testing now scheduled for June 20 in Media.
The Clifton Heights Police Department’s hiring packet says candidates will take a physical agility test at 9 a.m. and a written examination at noon on June 20 at the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy on the Delaware County Community College campus. The department’s website identifies the notice as a civil service exam for a full-time police patrol officer.
What the hiring packet says
The application booklet lays out a multi-step process rather than a quick appointment. Applicants must first clear the testing phase, and the packet says candidates who advance can face background checks and a polygraph interview-examination before any conditional offer is considered.
If the borough extends a conditional offer, the booklet says the candidate must then pass a psychological evaluation, a pre-employment physical examination, and a drug screen. The packet also says the top three candidates may be brought before Clifton Heights Borough Council for review, and that a final offer does not go out until all required screening steps are complete and the file is approved by the Civil Service Commission.
Why residents should watch this one
For a small borough, police staffing affects how visible patrols are on neighborhood streets, around business corridors, and through the daily commuter traffic that moves in and out of town. It also matters for residents who watch response capacity, for business owners who want regular coverage, and for workers and parents who depend on stable public-safety services.
At this stage, though, the key point is simple: Clifton Heights is still in a live hiring process. The June 20 tests are the next public milestone, and no final hire should be assumed until the screening steps, council review, and civil service approval are finished.
