In St. Louis, filing for two SLPS Board of Education seats opens July 7, 2026 at 8 a.m. and ends July 28 at 5 p.m.; voting Nov. 3, 2026.
The City of St. Louis Board of Election Commissioners says candidate filing for two seats on the St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education opens Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and closes Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The seats will be decided at the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

How and where candidates file
To run, candidates must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the Board of Election Commissioners during the filing window. Declarations can’t be filed before the window opens or after it closes.
Where to file: Board of Election Commissioners, 300 N. Tucker Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63101.
Filing hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Board notes that July 7 and July 28 follow the same hours.
Eligibility basics and key restrictions
Per the Board’s filing materials (based on Missouri election law), candidates must affirm they meet these qualifications:
- Be at least 24 years old.
- Be a citizen and resident of the City of St. Louis, having been so for at least three years immediately preceding their election.
- Not hold any other public office (except notary public).
- Have no direct or indirect interest in any contract with, or claim against, the Board.
The materials also note that board members serve without compensation and are exempt from service as election officers during their term.
Filing fee: $100
The filing fee is $100, payable to the St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education. The Board’s instructions say cash, check, or money order is accepted.
